Oprah is a self-made woman with such a powerful stance in modern society that she need not bother with a last name. Truly, she is a force to be reckoned with; producing films; hosting a long-standing talk-show; running a magazine. The list goes on. She is the president of female empowerment, and she isn’t likely to be a pushover, even off camera.
So when Resveratrol, products promoted to help with fitness and weight loss, tried to plaster Oprah as an endorser, things got tricky. It turns out that Oprah, as well as her physician Dr. Oz, never said anything about resveratrol supplements on her show, even though they were both credited to endorsing the products. It was an easy mistake, right? It was meant to help sell the product, but go unnoticed, or at least unscathed, by Oprah and company. Good assumption, isn’t it? Not really.
Oprah didn’t blink twice to call Resveratrol out on their misdeed. Just as well, studies showed that the products were not as useful as claimed to begin with. Oprah didn’t want her name plastered where it didn’t belong, especially on something that was so misleading. The talk-show host sued Resveratrol and soon after, her name and Oz’s were removed from all tiny print on their products. Justice, in this case, starts with an O.
